Happy New Year

Merry Christmas

I just want to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  I might not be able to write in here until Christmas Day so I decided to go ahead and wish everyone a Merry Christmas now.  

I am still waiting to get my paycheck from the week when I was on vacation hopefully I'll get it by Tuesday but my boss said that if not by Tuesday then definitely by Friday.  It stinks because I need the money and I don't have my paycheck so I am praying to God that I will get it by Tuesday.   I have off on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and I have no idea what we are going to do all I know is that I have to get my paycheck and schedule on Friday or Saturday.  I have to work all day Christmas eve but I am NOT SCHEDULED TO WORK ON CHRISTMAS THANK GOD!!!!!

I hope this next year is going to be better for the job market but I have a feeling we won't get out of this recession for a few years so I say go ahead and spend and help the economy get back to where it was.

With all of that being said again I wish everyone who reads my blog a very Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year.

Fun Vacation

I had a fun week off this week and I have to say I'm not looking forward to going to work tomorrow.  Here is an overview of what I did.

On Saturday after work my Dad and I went to deer valley airport to see a B-17 bomber.  I will put some pictures on here or on my other blog as soon as I can.

On Sunday I watched a movie while my parents went to the desert botanical garden which was fine with me because I wasn't feeling to good and I have already been to the garden before.

On Monday I watched another movie that a friend of mine let me borrow and I cleaned my bathroom and dusted my room so nothing really exciting that day.

On Tuesday I went to the Dr.. and then my mom and I went and got Subway for lunch.   My dad had to go to a luncheon so that was nice because it was just my mom and I.

On Wednesday we went to Kierland Commons and just walked around and had lunch at the Cheesecake factory.

On Thursday we just stayed home and I did whatever I wanted.

On Friday we all went to tortilla flat which was nice and I have some pictures that I have to download and when I do I will put the pics on her or on my other blog.

Today I think we are going to go downtown and maybe go into a museum.  I don't know what else we are going to do but it will be fun.  

Then tomorrow it's back to work YUCK!!!!!

Movie Reviews

Yesterday I watched a movie that a friend of mine let me borrow.  It was Chronicles of Narnia the Lion, witch and the wardrobe.  It was a really good movie.  It was about these four children who go to live in the country with this old professor because of the war raids in WWII.  And while there they discover this old wardrobe one day when they are playing hide and seek.  At first Lucy the youngest goes through and then it's Edmund and finally Peter and Susan follow them and they end up in this other world called Narnina.  There they meet all these creatures and people who are afraid of the white witch and the four children along with King Aslan eventually defeat the white witch.  I absolutely loved this movie and I remember it from reading this book.  

Then today I watched another movie that my friend has it was  Prince Caspian the sequel to the lion witch and the wardrobe and it was good but I didn't like it as much as I liked the first one.  There was a lot of fighting between good and evil but it was still good.  The four children return to Narnia only to find it in ruins and the narnians are considered to be extinct but they end up fighting for Narnia and winning in the process. 

Bottom line I loved the first one and I liked the second one.  I am definitely going to see the third one and I'm thinking of buying the first two.

Christmas time

Well, It's that time again, you know what I'm talking about Christmas shopping!!!!  Luckily I am done yes you read it right I am done with shopping and I thank it all to the good ole internet!!   I already told my parents that it's not going to be much this year and I am sure I'm not going to get a lot either this year.  I have also decided to NOT put Christmas music on my blogs because I for one have to hear it all the time at work and other places and on the radio and I get tired of hearing it over and over again.  The background is all decked out on all of my blogs but no christmas music.

What I am thankful for

Cooling off

In one of my older posts I was complaining that it wasn't cooling off yet well now it is and I couldn't be happier.  The cooler weather is finally here and I hope to God that it will stay here too for at least awhile.  Today it was nice and rainy and cool and I think for tomorrow it's going to be cloudy and cool.  It just makes it seem like the holidays when it's cool.  

Speaking of the holidays I am 99% done with my Christmas shopping.  I only have to buy for my parents so it's not that many people but I wanted to get a head start on it and I think I am just about done.  Maybe two other things for my mom we'll see.   My dad is taken care of though.

Got 20$ gift card from safeway

At work today all of us employees got a 20$ gift card for Safeway. We got one for being accident free for the quarter.   At first I was thinking I was going to use it for my prescriptions but the more I thought about it I am going to get a movie.  I don't know what movie yet but I am going to use it on something fun instead of on something I have to get.  If anyone has any ideas on what movie I should get let me know.

BTW for my Birthday I got a gift card from my grandmother for target in the amount of 15$ and I used it a couple of days ago and got a game for my Mac.

Started a new book

I started a new book by the same author of the dollanger series. The author is V.C.  Andrews.   This book is called my sweet Audrina and it is pretty good so far.  It is about this girl who lives in the shadow of her dead sister who also had the same name of her and since I am in the beginning I don't really know what's going to happen but I feel sorry for the sister whose name is also Audrina because she is not allowed to go to school and she has to stay at home to stay protected by her parents why I don't know.  When I get more in the book I will let everyone know how I like it.  I have read other books by this author and I really like her style of writing and I will definitely continue reading more of her books in the future.

getting older

When I turned 32 on November 1st it seemed to me and my parents that I am more relaxed and calm which is really good.  I am more forgiving of myself when I make mistakes and do things wrong than I was before. I am also not so hard on myself when I am learning something new like my laptop and I am much more easy going and more laid back.  I think I have finally matured it took me long enough.  It is just amazing to me how I can be this calm and not stressed out about every little thing.  I think I like being 32.  All I can hope for now is to continue this way of thinking because not only will I be happier but so will my parents.

The holidays are coming

The holidays are coming and it is at this time of the year that I don't like mainly because I work in the grocery store and it gets busy and the people get all stressed out and mean that I just don't like the holidays anymore.  I can tell you one thing though I am NOT working on Christmas Day like I have done the last couple of years and this Christmas is going to be VERY slim for obvious reasons.  I am also not going to work on Thanksgiving.  

I also don't like the fact that two of my favorite radio stations are already playing Christmas music and it is just way to soon.  I know I mentioned this already in another post but it just irks me that they are playing Christmas music already.  Chris mas  music will start playing in the store the day after Thanksgiving and by the time Christmas comes I am just tired of hearing it so that's  why I listen to my Cd's and music on my TV.

Christmas is still my favorite holiday but it's all the hustle and bustle that I don't like. I already have a list of what I am going to get my parents but I can't go into it here because they read it.  

So with that all said Happy thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Kwanzaa and if I left anyone out I'm sorry.

Is it ever going to cool off?

I have been asking myself this question since Halloween.  In the daytime it gets up in the 80s  but at night it is nice and cool.  When is it going to cool down to be at least in the 70s in the daytime? I mean come one it's almost Thanksgiving it needs to start cooling off.  Hopefully by next week it will start feeling like fall instead of spring.

still here

I know it has been awhile since I have posted anything but I have been working a lot and I have been getting used to my new laptop which I still love.  This week has been very busy for me for many reasons.  I had to work 30 some hours this week and I was going to write in here yesterday but I was not in a good mood so I decided to wait until tonight. 

 

We went to the good guys car show today and it was a lot of fun.  I will put some pictures on my other blog as soon as I can edit them and pick out the best ones.  

It might not be for awhile but I will get them up soon I promise.  Tomorrow it's back to work for and I will probably be working another five days which is fine because I need the hours.

I am slowly getting used to my laptop.  It's a lot of fun and I absolutely love it.

I had to change radio stations because the two stations that I usually listen to are playing Christmas music already.  I can't believe they are already playing Christmas music I mean we haven't had thanksgiving yet.  I am not going to listen to it until December 15Th.  I have to listen to it at work after  Thanksgiving and I usually get tired of hearing it so I try not to listen to Christmas music when I am at home.  I honestly don't mind it but not now it's to soon.

I promise to not let so much time go by before I post again.

Well, by tonight we will learn who will be our next president.  I am glad because I am getting sick of hearing these commercials about the propositions and the president.  I am definitley going to be watching the returns tonight so I think it's going to be a late night for me and for everyone else.  I just hope whoever wins they will put the economy back the way it needs to be.

I have my own laptop

Well, I finally bought my own laptop on Saturday which was also my birthday.  I was going to get a PC but the salesperson told us that Windows are having a lot of trouble with Vista and it won't be until the first of the year that they come out with windows 8 so he showed us the apple laptops and that is what I ended up getting.  I absolutely love it and it is very easy to use.  I am still getting used to it but I will get a hang of it soon I mean I only got it last Saturday.  When I am away from it I miss it.  It is my new favorite toy.

I am still waiting to get something from my grandmother and hopefully that will come in the next few days.  

Happy Birthday to me

Today is my 32Nd birthday and I am able to spend the day with my parents since I requested to have the day off. My parents are going to get my DVR box and this afternoon we are going to best buy to get my own laptop. I am so excited I just hope they have one that I like and not too expensive. I have the money saved up and my mom is going to get my mouse and mouse pad. I will be able to play games on my computer until the geek squad comes out and gets it hooked up to the Internet because I am not going to use the Internet before I get it hooked up legally. Hopefully they will be able to come out on Wed, Thur or Fri not on Tues because that is election day and I don't know how long it is going to take for my parents to vote (I voted early).


Yesterday I picked out a CD and movie that I can't get until today. We are going to Applebees tonight for dinner. It's going to be a fun day.

Happy Halloween

Just wanted to wish everyone a happy Halloween and be safe out there tonight if you're taking your little ones trick or treating or if you are going to a party. We are going to hand out candy tonight so that meant a trip to target to get the candy and luckily we found some. We weren't going to hand any candy out but my Dad and Mom both decided to do it last night. So anyway, have a safe Halloween. BOO!!!!!

Happy Birthday Dad

This is a post for me to say Happy Birhday to my Dad who turned 60 years old today. I don't know if he will read this or not but I wanted to write something on here to commentrate this milestone birthday.

I am so glad that you were born on this day because I have enjoyed being your daughter and I am glad that you're my Dad. I know I can be a handful at times and a bit impatient but you are so patient and kind. I have learned alot about photography from you. I enjoy the day trips that we go to together and I am looking forward to going to the Good Guys car show on the 14th of November. There are so may other things I want to say but it's hard for me to find the right words. You are a really great dad and I know I don't tell you as often as I should but I love you very much and I hope you have a great birthday.

A few plans for the rest of the week......I have to go to work tomorrow and on Thursday I have to go to the dentist in the afternoon and Friday we have to take the dogs to the groomers and later in the afternoon I have to get my schedule and paycheck and Saturday is my 32nd Birthday!!!!

Dad is coming home tonight

My dad is on his way home as we speak. He has been in MO the last week visiting with his Mom and Dad. It has actually been nice with just my Mom and I and of course the kids and believe it or not my Mom and I didn't get in one argument at all this past week. I feel one coming on Just kidding but seriously I am looking forward to be coming home tonight.

The Perfect Man

Blood Test Results

In a erlier post I had written that I had my blood drawn and earlier this month I got the results but I didn't put it on here because I couldn't remember the numbers because when the doctor's office called me with the results they rattled off the numbers so darn fast so after trying to remember what the numbers were I went to the Dr's office today to get a copy of my blood work. The secretary or nurse or whoever she was was not friendly at all I mean no smile or hello or anything. And when I asked if that was the right date she was all snotty to me and told me that it was the last blood results but she was a total witch. Anyway here are the numbers for my Cholestrol.

HDL -220
LDL - 140
My dr. wants me to go on a low cholestrol diet and I am supposed to go back in January to get another blood test done but the nurse didn't tell me what a low cholestrol diet is so I am guessing it's a lot of vegetables, fruit, Soy, fish. I don't know if I will go back in January because I haven't really done anything to lower the cholestrol and I don't think that it's that bad anyway.

I really need to find another doctor's office because this one that I go to is not good at all and the staff is not nice at all. I mean I can understand if you're having a bad day but don't be rude to the patients becasue I for one am very tempted to find another dr.

Sorry for the ranting but I just needed to get this off my chest. I had a much better day after that. My mom and I went and got subway for lunch and then we went to Summer Winds Nursery to look for some flowers and we came back home and I watched two episodes of Supernatural and that was it. I will probably read some tonight or tomorrow. I have no idea what we are going to do tomorrow but we'll do something.

He prayed, then aimed the gun high up in the tree and shot the wild turkey. The bullet passed thru the turkey and killed the deer. The handle fell off the gun and hit the snake in the head and killed it. And, when the gun had gone off, it knocked him into a pond. When he stood up to look around, he had fish in all his pockets, a dead deer and a turkey to eat for his family. The snake (Satan) was dead simply because the man listened to God. Moral of the story: Pray first before you do anything, aim and shoot high in your goals, and stay focused on God. Never let others discourage you concerning your past. The past is exactly that... 'the past.' Live every day one day at a time and remember that only God knows our future and that God will not put you through any more than you can bear. Do not look to man for your blessings, but look to the doors that only God has prepared in advance for you in your favor. Really Good Movie

Today I saw a really good movie with my mom. It was definitely a tear jerker and a chick flick and it had Queen Latifah, Alicia Keys, Dakota Fanning, and other actors that I can't remember their names. What is the name of this movie you ask? The secret Life of Bees and it is such a good movie about these laddies that keep bees and making honey is what they do. It was originally a book which I haven't read yet but I definitely will now. I don't want to give too much away so I will stop saying anything more about it but please go see it and take your daughters and don't forget the tissues!!!!!

And we are going out to mimmi's Cafe for dinner tonight and when my Dad calls tonight I will be able to talk to him so I am looking forward to that.

Dad is on trip

My dad left this morning to go back to MO to see his parents again. I was able to go with him last time in August but not this time maybe next year. So it's just going to be my mom and I and of course the dogs. He is suppossed to call tonight but haven't as of yet. I am going to miss him though this week and next Wed is his birthday He is going to be 60 years young.

Movie Reveiw

I saw An American Carol today with my parents (I paid for the movie) and it was actually funny in spots. It is very political but I understood it a lot more than I thought I would. It basically made fun of Michael Moore and in the movie he was visited by ghosts of the past. Kelsey Grammer was in it and he was Patton, Jon Voight was George Washington and they even had Trace Adkins as the angel of death. The premise is this Micheal Moore look a like wants to abolish the Fourth of July and in so doing he meets these people like Trace Adkins, Kelsey Grammer and John Voight. It really poked fun at michael Moore and I for one am glad that he got made fun of. There was alot of famous people in it also like Kevin Sorbo, Bill O'Riley, Gail O'Grady, Leslie Nielson and others I can't think of right now. I would reccomend this one because it is funny but it also teaches a lesson that we all need to be proud of this country and we need to protect it from extremists and people that don't like America. So go see it and be proud of where you live because I know I am.

Finally a saturday off from work

I FINALLY have a Saturday off of work. I had to work yesterday for four hours which was okay but I absolutley love having saturday off. I am going to go to the movies today with my parents we are going to see an American Carol. I sure hope it will be alot better than the last
movie I saw which was awful. It was Burn after reading and I don't reccomend it at all.

Anyway I am so happy that I have a Saturday off. Next Saturday I have to work and the Saturday after that I have off because it's my Birthday and I don't really want to work on my Birthday.

got replacement ballot and mailed it in

In one of my earlier posts I said that I had gotten my ballot but I made a mistake in it and had to send it back on Sat well I didn't think I would get it until next week but Yesterday I got another ballot so I went ahead and filled it out and mailed it today for the general election so that means I won't have to go and vote since I already voted early.

1. You know how some people have addictions to smoking or gambling or drinking or whatever else? Well, I have an addiction to Supernatural. I mean I totally love this show and it is the most underrated TV show. I know you thought I was going to say spending or something else, huh? But, no my addiction is definitely to Supernatural. So if you haven't checked it out yet make sure to check it out. It comes on every Thursday on the CW which is channel 6 here in Phoenix and it comes on at 8PM.

2. I do spend a lot of money on books movies and Cd's. My parents tell me I could open a music store with all of the Cd's I have.

3. I love searching for different things on the Internet.

4. Next to Christmas my favorite holiday is Halloween. Why Halloween? because the next day is my birthday. I was actually supposed to be born on Halloween but I waited until Nov 1st.

5. I love going out and taking pictures of anything I can find.

6. I like trying to find bargains on books or movies or Cd's.

Poverty in USA

I thought I would post this before the 15th because I might not have time ot post it so here it is:

I may not be the most eloquent person when typing and exressing my thoughs and I don't know if I'm even doing this right but I will do my best so here goes:


I decieded to focus on poverty in the USA because we are the most
advanced country and yet we still have thousands of Americans who are living below the poverty line and there are tons of thousands of americans who are homeless. I know there are a lot of homelesss people in big cities because I live in a big city and I see them where I work almost daily. A lot of these people do have mental problems but alot of them also have probably lost their jobs and they are having a hard time getting back on their feet. It is sad to think that we live in the most advanced country and yet we still have so many people living in Poverty. I am going to include a video from you tube that shows some statistics about poverty and on my other blog I will be posting some pictures of people in poverty. I personally have to live with my parents because there would be absolutley no way that I could make it on my own and making only minimum wage it's hard to live on my own. I feel very blessed to have such wonderful parents that will let me live with them and pay rent because without them I truly believe that I would be living on the streets or working at least two jobs to make ends meat. There is a quote that I feel sums up everything I just said: "There for the grace of God goes I" I don't know who said it but I heard it somewhere and I love that quote.

Voting early

I got my early ballot in the mail today so anytime now I can vote for who I want for the next president. I got it fast I requested one last Thursday or Friday (can't remember which one) and today I got in the mail. I am voting early because I work all different hours and I have no idea when I ma going to work on that day so by doing it this way makes a lot easier for me.

We will see who will be our next president on November 4th.

blood test results

I got my blood test results back on last Friday and good news: Everything came out normal but I do have high cholesterol and my Dr wants me to go on a low cholesterol diet. In twelve weeks I have to go back and get my blood drawn again but in the meantime I am going to try and eat more fruit and vegetables. I don't remember the numbers because when they called me they rattled off the numbers so fast that I didn't get a chance to write down the numbers. I hope I don't have to take medicine but if I do then I do. High cholesterol runs in my family so I'm really not all that worried about it. As long as I try and do the low cholesterol diet I should be fine plus I'm still young enough.

New Background change

I have changed my background to suppport breast cancer. My other blog still has a halloween/fall feel to it but I wanted to show my support for breasst cancer in this way, plus it's free!!! can't beat backgrounds that are free nowadays.

Good News

Yesterday when I came home from work I went into my room and I saw my new TV was up. I am so excited that I got it up and the picture is really nice looking. I will have to wait untl my birthday to get the dvr box.

Yesterday was a good day at work and I was able to go home early which was good since I was tired from PMS and this morning I woke up with a headache but that is definitley hormone related. My PMDD is better today.

I am still hoping to get my own laptop after my birthday which is in Novermber the first of november to be exact.

I think God is teaching me to have patience and to wait but darn it I want it(laptop) now.

mediocre day

Today was allright not good not bad but somewhere in the middle. I was depressed this morning and that's because of my PMDD and I didn't get to go out to lunch with a friend of mine like I had wanted to. I sent her an email and called her but she wasn't home and she never wrote me back so that was kinda a bummer.

On the good side I got my TV today but I have to wait until November 1 st to get it hooked up since that is my birthday and it is the only birthday present that I am going to get from my parents which is totally cool with me. I don't want anything else really.

We took the dogs to get grooming this morning. Boy, they needed it too!! After waiting for four weeks or longer because the groomers were closed for a week and we want to keep them on the same schedule it was actually closer to a month and they are still up there. We are picking them up now YEAH!!!!!

We also went to famous footwear to find some shoes but I didn't find anything and neither did my mom which is weird for her because she can find shoes that fit almost every time. Not this time though. I have to get my shoes at SAS or at Anne's wide shoes and they are expensive but since I have had to deal with Plantar fascitis I am not taking the risk of it hurting again so that's why my shoes cost more than other people.

I am picking up the dogs now. Bye!!!

Good Day

Today was a good day. I went to get my blood drawn just to make sure that everything is okay which I am sure it is. And then I did my chores and watched two episodes of Supernatural then had dinner. At eight I watched a new episode of supernatural and played on the computer some. I did watch the vice president debate and I also took a much needed nap this afternoon. I get really tired at my time of the month and I am dealing with a headache now.

Tomorrow morning my TV that I am going to get for my birthday is going to come. I will have to practice some self control and not beg my parents to let me have the TV sooner because that is all I am getting for my birthday which is November 1 st. So it will be a long wait but I can wait until my birthday I am going to have to.

Much better day

Today was a much better day than yesterday. I didn't let any customers get under my skin.
We were really slow and that isn't good because by this time of year the snowbirds come and
then it starts getting busy but it hasn't gotten busy yet. I hope that the snow birds do come and help boost our economy because if they don't come that means we don't get much hours and that's not good. All I can really do is Pray that it starts getting busy again.

Last day of Septemver

I can't believe that today is the last day of September. This whole year is going by so fast. I can't believe that tomorrow is going to be the first day of October and that means my birthday is only a month away yeah!!! Maybe we will FINALLY get some cooler weather.

Today was not a very good day at work. I had to deal with a nasty customer and it seemed that I couldn't find anything right away but it was definitely PMS. When that time of month comes for me it's very hard to concentrate and keep focused because I get very tired and cranky and I didn't get a lunch but thankfully my boss let me take an extra long break. :-(

This whole week I don't get a lunch but on Sat my boss is going to let me take two 15 minutes breaks. We are not very busy either because of the way the economy is right now and I haven't seen any snow birds here yet which is not good for our business. I hope business picks up soon because I don't like it being this slow and dead.

Well, that's it for tonight I hope tomorrow is a better day :-)

One more thing I forgot to mention I have been with Safeway for eleven years. My anniversary was in Sept but that was when I was over at word press. I can't believe that it has been eleven years I honestly didn't think I would be with Safeway for that long but I am. The benefits are good so that is what counts nowadays.

Okay that's it good night almost time for Dancing with the Stars.

correction

I need to make a correction. TODAY is officially the first day of Fall. I thought it was on Sunday but someone at work told me that it was today. I just hope the weather starts to cool off soon because I am getting tired ofthese 100 degree days.

2nd day of fall

I can't beleive that this is the second day of fall because man it sure doesn't feel like it is. It is still hot and when I come home I have to take a shower just to cool off. I keep wondering if it is ever going to cool off. Maybe it willl in the next couple of weeks.

I am writing this on my mom's laptop just so I can get used to it because I am seriously considering getting one of my own but I think I will get a 17 inch one instead of a 15 inch one. But I am going to use hers for awhile to see if I like it or not since it is a lot of money. But we'll see. For my birthday I am going to get a HD TV flat screen to put in my room and I can't wait.

Well, I better get off now so my mom can use her computer to play games.
